Sunday saw our final regular home game of the season as we beat the Inverclyde Goliaths to finish 8-2 on the season and finish runners up in NFC North I. Here’s what happened:
Vikings opened the scoring after a solid drive up the field. RB Joe Dorr and WR Carl O’Byrne both making multiple big plays, before QB Henry Bulmer found WR Lee Davison with a perfect ball to the back corner of endzone, which he hauled in for the first TD of the day. Vikings struck again on their next drive, Bulmer dispatching a deep ball down the right to WR Ross Conley who won a battle to pluck the ball out of the air for a passing TD.
Goliaths fought back but a pass into the middle of the field was picked off by Safety Conor Joyce for the 48th interception in his career.
Goliath’s began to move the ball with their QB making some good rushing yards following an interception of their own, however they lost possession again when a pass was fumbled and DL Tom McKale dove to snag it with one hand!
Vikings capitalised, a screen pass from Bulmer to Conley saw him find a path up the sideline for his second TD of the game, with a 2pt rush from Bulmer added too. After another turnover, RB Misba Islam stepped up and drove the ball upfield before punching it in himself – Bulmer adding another 2pt rush to take the store to 28-0.
Vikings went on to score again before the half, Bulmer throwing a deep ball to Conley who beat two men to win the ball with an unbelievable catch, for his 3rd TD of the game.
Just before the half, Goliath’s had their best offensive play when a post route was caught and ran towards the Vikings goal line, only to be stopped at the 2yard line. The Vikings D stood firm and held the Goliath’s at bay until time expired in the first half.
The second half was much shorter thanks to a rolling clock and Vikings heavily rotated, but still had time to score once, Bulmer finding O’Byrne with a quick pass into the endzone to end the scoring at 40-0.
MVPs
Offensive: Carl O’Byrne

Fantastic running from Joe, who finished on 12 runs for 97 yards (8ypc) and continues to make an impact at every opportunity. Well done!
